After his fellowship training, Dr. Michel joined Christiana Care in 2012, providing rheumatological care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, while also serving in the capacities of Rheumatology Representative on the Christiana Care Specialty Council and Project Leader of the Rheumatology Quality Metrics Development Project.

Upon relocation to Greenville, North Carolina in 2015, Dr. Michel worked in private practice for 5 years and enjoyed caring for the wonderful residents of eastern North Carolina, many of whom followed him upon relocating in 2020 to the Raleigh area. There, he joined WakeMed, where he served as Physician Lead of Rheumatology Division and Infusion Center as well as rheumatology specialty coordinator of medical resident education.

Dr. Michel is board-certified in rheumatology. He is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the North Carolina Rheumatology Association. He has performed as a guest speaker for the Delaware and Pennsylvania chapters of Delaware and Pennsylvania. He has published on the clinical and pathophysiology of a number of rheumatic diseases, including scleroderma and systemic lupus erythematosus. He has a particular interest in providing access to modern rheumatology care to all, especially those of underserved communities.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Michel enjoys spending time with his wife and four precious daughters.
